Two Part Time Openings Must have weekend availability !

(1) Mon, Sat, & Sun; 4pm-12am

(2) Tues, Fri, and alternating Sat/Sun; 4pm -12am

Pay Range: $18.91 - $23.11

Position Overview:

The Resident Assistant serves to ensure a safe, secure, healthy, clean, and positive environment for families as they make their transition from homelessness through after care. This position assists families in service plan implementation by obtaining and providing feedback regarding their progress toward service plan goals. Maintains respect, support, care, and a family atmosphere for residents of the facility and fellow staff members

Requirements:

  • Ability to work; Must have weekend availability !

  • Mondays, Saturdays & Sundays: 4pm to 12am (OR) Tuesdays, Fridays & Alternating: Saturdays/ Sundays: 4pm to 12am

  • High School diploma / GED Equivalent, required.

  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days from date of hire.

  • Local travel is required; A current Clean & Valid New York State Driver’s License (actively licensed at least one year) - is required.

  • Staff in driving positions must be able to meet agency’s minimum requirements of our insurance policy for authorized drivers; including, but not limited to the minimum age of 21 at time of hire.

  • Ability to work with clients with mental health issues, substance abuse and developmental disabilities.

  • Knowledge of community resources is beneficial.

  • Previous experience working in a human services agency is a plus!

  • Proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Google Business Workspace Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Meet, Sheets, etc.); Secure Internet practices.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; Capable of building strong working relationships with regulatory bodies.

  • Self-motivated and engaged, with a strong attention to detail; Excellent writing aptitude.

  • A compassionate, warm and caring mindset; Capable of exhibiting empathy for those in crisis.

  • Capacity and openness to work with populations from culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including but not limited to a broad range of people with various developmental and functional levels.

  • Qualities of positivity, flexibility and adaptability; A professional record of integrity, proven reliability and dependability.

  • Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality.

  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting.

    Duties & Responsibilities include :

  • Regularly meets with families to assist with service plan goals, offering education and instruction regarding daily living skills; providing information and empowering residents to identify choices in their daily lives.

  • Ensures a safe, secure and healthy environment for all residents.

  • Performs routine and ad hoc documentation, using critical incident reports, intake information forms, progress notes in case files, logs, etc.

  • Assists with orderly transition of families, from intake through discharge.

  • Intervenes in crisis situations and assists with conflict resolution, as needed, by providing mediation and facilitating communication.

  • Participates in professional development programming.

  • Transport clients in agency vehicles to various destinations throughout the Capital Region, based on families’ needs.

  • Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.

  • Additional position-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
