The Research Foundation for SUNY at the University at Albany Nanoscale Engineering Postdoctoral Researcher (R24-19) in Albany, New York
Location: Albany, NY Category: Research Foundation Careers Posted On: Tue Apr 9 2024 Job Description:
Description of Duties:
Prof. Nathaniel Cady's research group at UAlbany's College of Nanotechnology, Science & Engineering (CNSE) focuses on novel nanoscale electronics for neuromorphic computing, in-memory computing, and AI hardware, in addition to a strong program in biosensor technologies. Our highly collaborative research team consists of undergraduate students, graduate students, post doctoral associates and research staff, who work on research projects using a team-based approach. This post doctoral research position will focus on the development of resistive random access memory (RRAM) also known as "memristors" and associated selector devices and circuits. RRAM are an emerging type of non-volatile memory devices that are being utilized in traditional memory applications, as synaptic encoding devices for neural networks, and as key hardware elements for matrix-based accelerator hardware. Research activities for this post doc position include the development of novel material stacks for NVM devices, integration of devices with complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS), circuit design, and electrical testing / characterization. Dr. Cady's research group leverages the world-class semiconductor and microelectronics fabrication, metrology, and electrical characterization facilities within CNSE's 200mm wafer scale "Innovation Lab" as well as the Albany NanoTech Complex's state-of-the-art 300mm wafer scale fabrication facilities / cleanrooms. The post doc to be hired will be expected to perform as an independent researcher and to pursue scientific publication and dissemination of the results of their research efforts.
