The Field Practicum Specialist is a full-time position within the School of Social Welfare. The Field Practicum Specialist will actively support both Master of Social Work (MSW) students and community partners as students complete required field practicums. This social work professional will provide a variety of supportive services designed to create cohesive working relationships between MSW students and their Field Instructors, assist students with making connections between field and academic learning, assure students' adherence to social work educational standards, and assist the School of Social Welfare with field site development and events. These services include but are not limited to problem-solving, mediation, coaching, intervention meetings, seminar facilitation, field instruction, and individual or group supervision meetings.
Essential Functions:
Serve as Field Liaison and/or Field Instructor to select students and field agencies, as assigned by the Director of Field Education.
Provide intervention and support to students, Field Instructors, Field Liaisons, and faculty when field practicum problems arise.
Identify, secure and monitor field practicums and/or practicum activities for students in the BSW program, seated MSW program, and/or online MSW program.
Assist in planning and execution of the annual Field and Career Fair, workshops and career planning opportunities for BSW and/or MSW students, and the annual Field Institute.
Represent the Field Education Office in various meetings with students, faculty, community agencies, and governance committees.
Assist with orientation/training of new Field Instructors and Field Liaisons, and with updated training of returning Field Instructors and Field Liaisons.

Job Requirements:
Demonstrate an ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, Field Instructors, and/or members of the Field Education program.
Demonstrate an ability to provide support, training, and consultation to Field Instructors, Field Liaisons, and/or agency partners.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills used to identify and develop new field practicum opportunities that align with the School of Social Welfare educational curriculum.
Actively contribute to the development and reinforcement of the policies and procedures of the Field Education program.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
Demonstrate strong skills for mediation and conflict resolution.
Demonstrate competence in the utilization of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office suite).
Demonstrate a commitment to service within the School of Social Welfare, the larger University, and the community (i.e. committee participation, event planning).
Demonstrated competence in practice and collaboration with culturally diverse constituencies.
Valid driver's license and available vehicle.
Working Environment:
Typical office environment.
Requires both in-person and Zoom/Teams meetings.
Requires agency site visits in the community (up to 25% of time may be spent in community).
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited social work program and college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Minimum of two years of post-MSW social work practice experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Has served as a Field Instructor and has taken the Seminar in Field Instruction.

Demonstrated experience performing community-based meetings.
