August 30, 2024POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTCommunications Coordinator Salary Grade 18: $61,811 - $77,058The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Communicationns Coordinator at the New York State of Mental Health (OMH). This position will develop, design, and promote infographics and other digital-based content with a goal of educating the general public about the importance of mental health, wellness and resilience and the effects of stress, toxic stress and traumatic events. The selected candidate should have strong management, writing, and oral communication skills; ability to work cooperatively with diverse stakeholders; and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additionally, a successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with changing needs and priorities; and proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Access, Word, and PowerPoint. Graphic Design experience, including proficiency using InDesign software.Duties and Responsibilities:Under the supervision of OMH’s Marketing Director and in collaboration with the Trauma-Informed Care Program Lead, the Communications Coordinator will have responsibilities including, but not limited to:•Writing, formating, and collaborating on the re-purposing of existing wellness materials to create visually appealing educational materials following the OMH brand•Designing repurposed wellness materials in addition to all new materials created by other content creators on this project. •Strategizing on best format for informational material (infographic, social media graphics, video or webpage content) and execute approved strategy•Working to make all documents accessible for web posting•Coordinating the translation of all materials using approved OMH vendors•Working with OMH’s Digital Information Officer to publish materials to a newly created ny.gov website•Coordinating with OGS Media Services to develop video content for website that aligns with the look and feel of larger promotional material•Collaborating on social media content for OMH’s social media channels to ensure trauma and wellness material be posted all year long•Staying up to date with latest design trends and best practices •Completing additional tasks as assignedMinimum Qualifications: •A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of *professional experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of *professional experience *Professional experience must be in a communications, graphic design, or public relations role.Preferred Qualifications: •Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations or a related field.•Demonstrated experience implementing projects of similar size and complexity is desirable, including examples of projects and references who can speak to the success of those projects. •Experience working in culturally diverse communities is an asset.Location: 44 Holland Avenue Albany, NYSalary: Commensurate with experienceTo Apply: Submit a resume and cover letter no later than September 12th,2024 on our website at https://rfmh.applicantpro.com/jobs/ .
