Description

We are seeking a meticulous and organized Temporary-to-Hire Bookkeeper to manage and maintain accurate financial records for our clients company. This role will involve handling essential accounting functions, including transaction recording, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and has a strong grasp of accounting principles. This position offers the potential for a permanent role based on performance and organizational fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record Financial Transactions: Accurately enter daily financial transactions in the general ledger, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and deposits.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank, credit card, and other accounts to ensure data accuracy.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Process invoices, monitor payments, and manage collections to keep accounts current and accurate.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute timely financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and categorize expenses to align with budgets and company policies.

  • Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll, ensuring correct calculations for wages, deductions, and taxes (if applicable).

  • Maintain Financial Records: Organize digital and physical financial documents for ease of access and audit-readiness.

  • Compliance and Auditing: Follow financial policies and assist in audit preparations and tax filing as needed.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role.

  • Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).

  • Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational skills and confidentiality.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Competencies:

  • Detail-Oriented: Maintains accuracy in data and reporting.

  • Analytical Skills: Identifies discrepancies and provides solutions.

  • Time Management: Manages multiple tasks and meets deadlines.

  • Communication: Works effectively with departments and vendors.
