Responsibilities

Specialist Management Solutions opens the door to high-quality, lower-cost outpatient surgical care. Working with employers nationwide, SMS helps their employees – and their family members – connect to specialty surgeons in their own communities who help them choose the appropriate settings for their procedures. Surgeons in the SMS alliance regularly use high-quality ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), which provides the opportunity for employees to receive outpatient surgical care at potentially significant cost savings. We are seeking a Manager, Systems Management to delight the user experience, improve the engagement between customers and suppliers, and ensure the success of the SMS Salesforce platform which is highly configured and customized for SMS.

This position is primarily responsible for:

  • Leading development and operational support of applications on the Salesforce platform for our Specialist Management Solutions (SMS) business line.

  • Managing and fostering continuous improvement in all stages of the product life cycle (Development, Introduction, Growth, Maturity, and Decline) for the applications and systems on the SMS Salesforce platform.

  • Determining product value to the business relative to cost, functionality, security, and compliance.

  • Providing vendor relationship for the SMS Salesforce platform.

  • Establishing proactive collaborative relationships with vendor partners and monitoring vendor performance and compliance.

  • Establishing the configuration for the SMS Salesforce platform. Personalizing the requirements, design, and functionality to meet SMS business needs. Maintaining product consistency with performance, functionality, physical attributes, and the overall user experience.

  • Creating processes, procedures, and documentation necessary to operate efficiently for the Salesforce platform & applications in an ever-changing environment.

  • Collaborating with other IT teams, including but not limited to Architecture, PMO, EOS & Data Services in delivering optimal solutions to the business.

  • Building leadership influence with all customers, internal and external to IT, to help understand real world problems; balance between customization and standardization and become a thought partner with recommendations and solutions.

  • Leading and providing direction for the team, while setting a positive example through exceptional work performance.

  • Ensuring the team is focused on delivering results and providing value to the business that meet customer needs and exceed their expectations.

  • Adapting business or departmental plans and priorities to address operational challenges, gaps, or opportunities.

  • Creating a new team of direct reports and developing the team by understanding their personal growth opportunities, desired career ambitions, and opportunities for mentorship to help them succeed.

  • Leading performance monitoring programs designed to measure and improve Salesforce applications/platform effectiveness.

  • Developing a passion to learn and grow both technically and professionally so that learning becomes contagious across the team.

  • Being accountable for the success and/or failure of all initiatives and results by the team.

  • Executing the responsibilities of a platform delivery leader as directed by senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of Salesforce operations or other technology relevant experience.

  • At least 2 years of manager or lead experience required.

  • Expert in Salesforce administration and business operations along with a good understanding of Information Technology operations.

  • Experience with Salesforce systems (scoping, configuring, implementing, training, etc.) is required.

  • Familiarity with general healthcare industry regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, facilitation skills and the ability to negotiate and influence effective outcomes and drive results .

  • Experience in healthcare industry preferred.

  • Great attitude in high pressure situations and multiple priorities.

  • Ability to collaborate across IT Teams.

  • Comfortable with being empowered to lead the development and operations of solutions on the SMS Salesforce platform.

  • Ability to provide direction to others that is clear, concise, and promotes efficiency throughout the organization.

  • Able to clearly explain Salesforce issues in a way that that non-technical people can understand.

  • Comfortable with giving and receiving constructive and critical feedback on a regular basis.

  • Expert in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with Teams.

  • Proactive, decisive, action-oriented individual.

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time as necessary.
