Job Summary:

As a regional sales manager for independent manufacturer representatives, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the sales activities of manufacturer representatives within a specific geographical region. You are responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, setting sales targets, monitoring sales performance, providing training and support to manufacturer representatives, and building relationships with key customers. This position reports the Vice President of Sales.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee a team of manufacturer representatives, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure they achieve their sales targets. This will involve training, and motivating the sales representatives, as well as conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback for improvement.

  • Develop sales plans and strategies for your region to achieve sales targets and objectives. Analyzing market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and develop effective sales strategies.

  • Prepare and conduct joint sales calls as well as sales presentations to customers and prospects with the manufacturer representatives.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and partners in your region to identify business opportunities, foster loyalty, and promote the company's products or services.

  • Track and analyze sales manufacturers’ performance metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies and tactics. Provide CRM reports on sales performance and sales forecasts.

  • Provide regular reports and updates to VP of Sales on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback as required.

  • Ensure the manufacturers’ representatives comply with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Providing guidance on sales ethics, compliance, and best practices to maintain the company's reputation and integrity.

  • Stay updated with product knowledge and industry trends to effectively promote and sell products or services. Provide training and support to sales representatives to enhance their product knowledge and selling skills.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop new products and services that meet the needs of customers in the region.

  • Participate in industry and prospect events to help support positive market awareness and increase sales

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering or related field required

  • Minimum of five years of sales experience in the electrical manufacturing industry required

  • Minimum of three years of experience managing a sales rep team required

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas required

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills required

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required

  • Three or more years of experience in utilizing sales CRMs required

  • Ability to work independently and remotely required

  • Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time required

  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience in the relay control house manufacturing preferred

  • Two or more years of experience working in the utility market preferred
