SHORT-TERM SUBSTITUTE -Elementary Special Education Teacher (K-2 Self Contained)VACANCY

The following position is posted in accordance with the negotiated agreement:

POSITION:1.0 FTE Short-Term Substitute Elementary Special Education Teacher

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:Preferred New York State Early Education Birth-Grade 2 and Childhood Education Grades 1-6 and Students with Disabilities B-6

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Comprehensive understanding of NYS ELA, Math, SS, and Science Next Generation Standards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of the principles and methods for instruction at the elementary level.

• Demonstrate ability to design and implement lessons to meet the learning needs of students with varying levels of ability.

• Understanding various disabilities, teaching strategies, and behavioral management techniques.

• Understanding of the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to create a positive student-centered learning environment.

• Utilization of student assessments and data processes to identify programmatic needs, as well as target support for individual students.

• Collaborate with faculty and grade level team to design, modify, and implement effective lesson (unit) plans.

START DATE:On or about April 14, 2025

SALARY:Compensation as per District/AFA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
