APTIM Quality Control Specialist in Aiea, Hawaii

Job Overview:

Implements Contractor Project Quality Control Plan during field work to verify that incoming materials and work performed by subcontractors complies with the contract statement of work, drawings, specifications and submittal requirements. The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for ensuring aspects of Quality Control plan are met.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Site QCSpecialist responsibilities include developing inspection plans for work performed by subcontractors, conducting preparatory QC meetings, reviewing and approving submittals, inspecting incoming material, conducting daily field QC inspections, verifying tests are performed and meet the specifications and writing daily QC reports.
  • Documents rework and nonconforming work that does not meet contract.
  • Verifies corrective action implementation.
  • Reports to project manager and program quality assurance manager.
  • Interfaces and communicates with customer quality assurance personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as engineering, chemistry, construction management, or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years working experience in quality control in chemical/hazardous waste investigations and remediation.
  • Experience with QA/QC in areas specific to DOD sites.
  • USACE/ NAVFAC CQCM certification.
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively
  • Need someone that is comfortable with heights and confined spaces.
  • Ability to pass a fit test for respirator use.
  • Physical abilities (for lots of walking).
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Word, Excel, & adobe.
  • Ability to read drawings.
  • Flexible in hours worked onsite. (10 -12 hrs, 5 days a week).
  • Interfaces and communicates with government quality assurance personnel.
