Teradyne Facilities Maintenance Mechanic in Agoura Hills, California

We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine and emergency maintenance on building support systems & equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, working with our outside vendors when applicable and scheduling preventive maintenance for the building, providing a satisfying, safe workplace environment for our employees.

You will work full time onsite at our Agoura Hills facility, but will also support field offices as needed ** Car is required

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Monitor, repair, install and perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, adjustments, and replacements, of building components and building support systems

  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures, diagnose issues, and conduct repairs on machinery and equipment.

  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete tasks effectively.

    Preventive Maintenance:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to avoid equipment failures and extend lifespan.

  • Monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues before they become critical.

    Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to on-site staff and other department employees when applicable.

  • May supervise or train employees in a lower classification

  • Monitoring of BMS to ensure HVAC, Chillers, Boilers are working as needed.

  • Assist with the installation, relocation or support of equipment when requested by department heads.

    Office Support:

  • Repair, move and install office and facility furniture and equipment as needed

  • Trouble shoot network cabling issue as needed

    Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.

  • Update maintenance logs and reports as required.

  • Updated Waste management reports weekly and quarterly.

  • Perform periodic inspections as required by insurance company and or OSHA

    Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

  • Maintain and handle tools, equipment, and hazardous materials in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Comply with company policies related to equipment and machinery

  • Obtain technical certification or licenses as required to perform task

    Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and efficiency.

  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving equipment reliability and performance.

    Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other maintenance staff, contractors, vendors to coordinate and execute repairs and upgrades and other related building maintenance tasks when needed

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other maintenance staff when applicable.

    Emergency Response:

  • Respond to emergencies, including but not limited to; structural problems, equipment failures, plumbing and electrical issues, fire alarms, and power failures at all hours, in a timely manner

  • Take immediate action to mitigate any potential hazards or risks during emergencies (including during off hours)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain records of emergencies and/or equipment failures.

    Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in mechanical maintenance or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related role, with a proven track record of handling complex maintenance tasks.

  • Extensive experience with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.

    Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals and blueprints.

  • Ability to operate and maintain various hand and power tools.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.

  • Excellent written / communication / organizational skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Handle stress effectively without it interfering with performance

  • Organize, set priorities, and exercise sound independent judgement within areas of responsibility

    Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position with possible overtime, weekend, and on-call work as needed. Respond to after-hour alarms, alerts from BMS, and security for the office building.
