Amergis School Psychologist in Adelanto, California

The School Psychologist works to support students through avariety of mental health and developmental issues and aid in qualifyingstudents for additional support services. The School Psychologist is responsible for providing on-sitepsychological services to students under the jurisdiction of the state anddistrict.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, social, and behavioral issues.

  • Develop and implement prevention and intervention programs to promote positive mental health and well-being among students.

  • Consult with teachers and staff on classroom management techniques and strategies to support student learning and behavior.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and develop comprehensive support plans.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.

  • Stay current with best practices and developments in the field of school psychology.

    Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Valid Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Psychology issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing1.

  • Minimum of three years of experience working as a school psychologist in a public school setting.

  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and techniques.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and their families.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all professional activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must maintain current State licensures and/or certificationsin state of assignment

  • Experience in pediatric and adolescent population ispreferred

  • Master’s degree in psychology preferred

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
