Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
As a Quality Technician, you will provide overall front-line support to the production of quality products. You will utilize various lab equipment and methods for visual inspection, ensuring product descriptions, critical measurements, and weights meet customer specifications. You will also maintain fundamental quality systems information and perform measurements and testing on lab equipment.
Responsibilities
Promote and follow all corporate and local OSHE and Quality policy and guidelines.
Collect and evaluate plastic moulded product using various inspection techniques and equipment.
Review Quality Inspection Plan (QIP) and product drawings to ensure revisions are current; report discrepancies as needed.
Determine from factory drawings and QIPs what samples are to be taken and inspected from each line.
Perform dimensional examination on all samples as per QIP requirements.
Execute the Hold Ware Procedure for out-of-specification ware produced until corrective action is verified by re-check. Place product on Hold/HFI as needed.
Enter required data with minimal errors in Real SPC System and follow Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
Audit and maintain accurate records for product capability and traceability.
Perform Start of Run Inspection Procedure as required.
Examine samples to determine acceptable visual quality according to quality standards and customer requirements.
Perform appropriate product functional tests including leak detection, flame treatment, drop, and rub tests.
Inspect carton labels and verify correct packing and packaging procedures as per shop floor instructions.
Understand SPC and interpret quality data and statistics.
Fulfill QA obligation for the Visual/Attribute Inspection Procedure every other hour and perform weight checks.
Perform all corrective/preventive actions and effectiveness checks as needed, communicated by the Quality Manager.
Understand and communicate customer complaints to other employees to create awareness of different defects.
Analyze dimensional attribute data to identify trends or non-conformances.
Assist other job classifications as required.
Perform other related duties as directed by the Quality Manager, Supervisors, or Leads.
Act as the IFS PACSecure assistant representative if needed.
Essential Skills
Inspection and quality control experience.
Proficiency in visual inspection techniques.
Understanding of GMP, quality assurance, and quality inspection processes.
Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and microscopes.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Strong analytical skills to identify trends or non-conformances.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency preferred; equivalent quality technician experience accepted.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Experience as a quality inspector, technician, or auditor is preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work various shifts, hours, and overtime as required.
Exceptional level of attendance and punctuality.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics in English.

Our Client is a flexible packaging company servicing various industries worldwide. This location specializes in plastic extrusion for food and consumer products, including shampoo, lotion, and cleaning solution bottles. The facility spans 90,000 sq feet with 15 extrusion lines and 2 labeling lines, using mostly mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic driven machines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.75 - $22.75/hr.
