This position will supervise the electrical and mechanical maintenance personnel for facility and machine repair, and will have an understanding of equipment and tooling needed to execute the functions of each of these positions

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Promote the Safety Culture and ensure employees understand safe work practices and the requirements of environmental regulations.

  • Plan, schedule, set department objectives and meet production standards within the framework of policy guidelines

  • Formulate and implement a set plan for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly maintenance of facility safety equipment, i.e.: fire alarm system, filter changes, fan cleaning

  • Adhere to approved plant and company lines of authority and communication, keeping Management informed as to performance, problems, and trends within the department

  • Delegate responsibility and authority to subordinates as necessary for the effective operation of department. Retains overall responsibility and accountability for results, as well as supplying all necessary direction regarding work objectives

  • Read complex drawings, blueprints, specifications, bills of material, and various technical materials needed to ensure the departments compliance with company, plant, and production goals

  • Utilize computer to check reports, track jobs and materials, verify inventory, and programming

  • Administer and execute training of maintenance personnel and all other support personnel to include (but is not limited to) Lockout, electrical hazards, repair and maintenance of facility, machinery, and tools needed to produce a quality product

  • Maintain training systems and programs to develop technical and managerial skills of subordinates

  • Review the performance, advancement potential, and merit increases of department personnel; make recommendations within the department to insure each individual receives the experience, exposure, and personal development necessary to reach their career objectives, whenever possible

  • Communicate with all MTM departments, facilities engineering, and plant personnel pursuant to facility maintenance and service goals

  • Ensure fair and equal treatment of all candidates or employees with regard to interviews, selections, hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, lay-offs, terminations, and training, regardless of race, sex, age, religion, national origin, veteran, or handicap status

  • Evaluate manpower, analyse personnel needs, and make recommendations for projected manpower needed to meet plant maintenance goals

  • Responsible for promoting good employee relations

  • Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible

    Core Skills and Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Requires one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or manufacturing related field, and two (2) years’ of experience working in a manufacturing environment, OR

  • Associates degree in an engineering or manufacturing related field, and four (4) years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment, OR

  • High school diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years’ of work experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Two (2) years’ of demonstrated experience in a leadership role or supervision

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical materials

  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets

  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines

  • Ability to collaborate with team members
