At Dart Container we are dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in all our operations. We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join our team and ensure our maintenance processes are smooth and effective.

What you will do:

  • Work Order Management: Plan and prioritize work orders, considering cost, risk, and impact on quality, safety, and production.

  • Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and manage both long-range and short-range maintenance schedules. Handle maintenance backlog efficiently.

  • Resource Management: Identify and manage resources needed for maintenance, including preparing Bills of Materials, managing stock, and processing Purchase Orders.

  • Work Order Accuracy: Ensure accuracy of work orders and effective communication with off-shift staff.

  • Collaboration: Maintain daily communication with production and maintenance management to prioritize and coordinate maintenance activities.

  • CMMS Management: Update and maintain asset attributes in the CMMS, including equipment details and BOMs.

  • KPI Reporting: Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs. Work with storeroom management to optimize parts inventory.

  • Job Packages: Create and maintain job packages, ensuring technicians have all necessary resources, SOPs, and updated PM kits. Archive job plans effectively.

  • Continuous Improvement: Use feedback to refine job packages, monitor warranty and repair procedures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Communication: Communicate PM tasks, planning, and schedules to maintenance technicians. Report relevant information to corporate Reliability Engineering.

  • Project Leadership: Lead continuous improvement projects and meetings as needed.

    What you will need:

  • Experience optimizing and implementing Preventative Maintenance (PM)

  • Experience applying Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to modify basic reports, documents and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and SharePoint

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

  • Ability to successfully prioritize deadlines and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments

  • Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information

  • Experience with Predictive Maintenance Technologies

  • Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • Familiarity with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa

  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

  • Proficient in reading and following complex blueprints, manuals, and mechanic and electrical schematics

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and piping/pump systems

  • Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, simple to complex projects and priorities

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to modify basic reports, documents and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and SharePoint

  • Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of experience performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, or comparable experience with trade school or training

  • Experience using Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), SAP

  • Prior maintenance planning and scheduling experience
