Job Summary

  • The Aquatic Pool Specialist is accountable for ensuring the safety of all patients and clinical staff while they are participating in aquatic pool therapy treatment sessions.

  • They are also responsible ensuring the safety of participants during any on-site classes in the aquatic therapy pool.

  • The Aquatic Pool Specialist will provide lifeguard support for patients ages infant to geriatric that are in the aquatic therapy pool area and will work closely with the Avera Therapy Center clinicians to monitor pool safety when occupants are in and around the aquatic therapy pool.

  • The Aquatic Pool Specialist must possess the ability to respond to specific issues reflective of the patient/customer's status and demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the proper care for the population served in the Aquatic Therapy Department.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

  • 0-6 months experience is required.

  • 6 months-1 year experience is preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Current Lifeguard Certification (Lifeguard Certification Training available), Basic Life Support Certification (Basic Life Support Certification available).

  • Certified Pool Operator is preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Varied shifts; PRN

  • 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm or 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm; occasionally 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $17.50 - $21.25 per hour
