MAG Systems Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Position Summary

MAG IS OFFERING UP TO A 10k SIGN-ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATES!

MAG Aerospace is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer who will provide engineering expertise in pursuit of technical solutions to fielded and future electronic warfare systems, tactical enterprise, and challenges facing the Army’s current and future forces. The Systems Engineer should possess in depth knowledge of Electronic Warfare (EW), RF Engineering, Fires Systems, and overarching EW systems. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to utilize their experience and knowledge to develop hardware and software to improve systems requirements document and specification, back-end signal processing of next generation RF systems, Fires solutions, and Electronic Warfare (EW) sensors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct analysis, subsystem analysis, architecture/subsystem decomposition, requirements analysis, implementation, integration, verification, and maintenance of ground-based EW systems.

  • Exercise a strong knowledge of EW systems and subsystems to develop system and subsystem specifications necessary for meeting performance metrics against a given set of signals of interest.

  • Collaborate across multi-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving use cases, CONOPS, CONEMP, and TTPs.

  • Participate in algorithmic design and machine learning frameworks including classification and identification techniques.

  • Conceives new concepts and approaches to resolve engineering problems.

  • Identifies existing or potential problems and provides engineering advice and guidance and/or directs a course of action to resolve engineering matters.

  • Develops presentations for support activities and/or higher headquarters to summarize results of actions against predetermined plans, current status or plans, progress, deficiencies, and outstanding accomplishments.

  • Research and implement state-of-the-art processing technologies tailored for application data processing.

  • Debugs and corrects system level problems and issues in conjunction with vendors.

  • Develops and documents overall System and Subsystem Level design, function, and performance criteria.

  • Serve as a technical manager with internal/external developer teams within an Agile development process to guide development and design choices, balancing user needs and program constraints.

  • Responsible for collaborating with other gov agencies, support orgs, and contractors.

  • Develop, analyze and manage system-level and software-level requirements and interfaces.

  • Perform requirements analysis and definition; as well as allocation, decomposition and traceability.

  • Assist with maintaining, managing, and integrating requirements between various tools.

  • Engage in model-based system engineering activities.

  • Represent program manager in technical and programmatic exchanges to refine concepts, use cases, and system requirements for new capabilities and features.

  • Review and provide input to requirements, specifications, reviews, and presentations material.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of domain specific EW principles, fires systems, and mission command systems, as related to interconnectivity, multi-domain operations, and technology advancements for today’s warfighter.

  • Strong familiarity in RF concepts and waveform theory.

  • Exercise a strong knowledge of EW systems and subsystems to develop system and subsystem specifications necessary for meeting performance metrics against a given set of signals of interest.

  • Experience with developing and documenting overall System and Subsystem Level design, function, and performance criteria.

  • Experiencing reviewing and providing input to requirements, specifications, reviews, and presentations material.

  • Ability to self-manage and pace responsibilities to ensure completion of all required activities in a timely manner.

Clearance

  • Must currently possess an Active Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, Radio Frequency (RF) systems, SIGINT and Electronic Support (ES) systems.

Education

  • BS (MS or Ph.D. preferred) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or similar field.

  • Four years of direct relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TS/SCI

  • 5+ years of experience with EW systems, Radio Frequency (RF) systems, SIGINT and Electronic Support (ES) systems.

  • MS or Ph.D. preferred in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or similar field.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to travel; minimum of 25% travel required to Army and contractor locations within CONUS.Ability to work within office/field/lab environments.

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000 to $223,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
