This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Position is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Responsibilities Serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), providing network/computer security and risk management planning. Provide consulting resources on new designs and implementation of effective network security design elements. Provide advice for network security operations. Assess the effectiveness of implemented security features and operations. Provide management and technical oversight for the certification and accreditation of networks, systems, applications, and associated computer hardware/software resources for customers within the Army. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Applicant must possess IT-related experience that demonstrates each of the following four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience: One year of experience that includes: 1) Serving as an expert System Applications and Products (SAP) Security analyst responsible for SAP Security/Program area; 2) Developing, evaluating and/or designing system software configurations needed to support SAP applications or customized integration of business computer systems; and 3) Coordinating with landscape architects to ensure adequate planning for an SAP system landscape that supports all phases of the deployment (i.e. development, testing, training, data load, and go-live). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information This non-supervisory position is subject to a salary control point equivalent to the GS-14, step 10 base salary, or if the incumbent's salary currently exceeds the GS-14, step 10 level- the incumbent's salary will be put on a salary control point at the incumbents existing salary. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
