Job Description:

Our Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland team is looking for an amazingly talented High Performance Computing Application Engineer to join our team in supporting the Army Research Laboratory's (ARL) DoD Supercomputing Resource Center (DSRC)! The successful Candidate will be responsible for outreach across Army and other DoD organizations to help attract new users, profile and modify codes, and explore new application spaces to improve performance on high performance computers.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Outreach across Army and other DoD organizations

• Help users bridge the gap between classic computing and high-performance computing

• Help new users obtain accounts, locate training resources, and identify the best platform for their requirements

• Collect lessons learned from users and communicate issues to chain of command to help improve the overall user experience

• Work with the ARL outreach team at various events to attract new users

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a closely related field

• At least fifteen (15) years and up to twenty-five (25) years of directly related experience in software development, web application/full stack development, and project management

• Experience with Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, and Ubuntu operating systems

• Experience in traditional and high-performance computing environments

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multi-disciplinary teams

• Experience working in a research laboratory and with customers a plus

• Experience with AI/ML workflows and tools a plus

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• US citizenship

• Department of Defense SECRET security clearance

• Web development using HTML, ASP, JavaScript, ColdFusion, CommonSpot, jQuery/jQuery-UI, PHP, Django framework, FlaskUI, Python, VBScript and Perl

• Scripting using Python, R, and Bash and machine learning associated packages such as SciKitLearn, Pandas, Numpy/Scipy

• Back end interaction with Microsoft SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Sqlite and MySQL databases.

• Familiar with C++ and GoLang programming languages

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
